Tired of the Heat & Humidity

Postby Sue on Wed Aug 19, 2009 11:11 am

I'm more or less venting here as only another runner can really understand. But I am tired of this humidity. I'm ready for fall and winter. I ran a 7.5 miler this morning at 8:15am, and it was already 80F with 86% humidity! Well no tempo running happened so I tried to throw in some pickups...they weren't much of a pickup and they were followed by a short walk break. UGH!!! :x Anyway....I just had to vent, and now I have to hydrate some more. Have a nice day and good running everyone. :D

I hear you! I had to bring it in to the treadmill for a 6 miler. Any humidity and I'm not getting it done outside. I hope to get 12 miles in on Friday EARLY....

If I had a dreadmill--I mean treadmill... I'd probably use it for some of my shorter runs, but mine died last year. Hope you have a good (and cooler) 12 miler on Friday! Drink, drink, drink.

I agree! Lately it's felt like breathing through a wet sock it's been so humid. I'm ready for the temp to drop 10-20 degrees.

Hey, before you know it we'll be complaining about something else.

Oh, I promise to complain about the cold this winter!
Not this week, though. It's been absolutely perfect! Hope you've been getting out to enjoy it.

I have been enjoying it. Yesterday I ran for just over an hour and a half at the state park. Was great: shade, lite breeze, low humidity...and no deer flies!...well one did buzz me for a minute but that was it there were no swarms! woo-hoo!

We'll have to plan a run up there again sometime.
