I'm meeting the group at West Marine at 6:30 Saturday morning. My plan is 12 miles at about a 9:30 min/mile pace. Don't know what others are running. All are welcome to join.

If I can get out of bed I'll probably come too, as you inspire me with some confidence that at least I'll see one person there (Amy), and maybe some of the Chris/Rhianna/etc crew -- I'll probably shoot for around 8min/mi or a little slower. In theory I'd like 16mi; in practice I'll see how tired I get Smile

Can you describe the 12 mile route you do (loops of the Island or out and back from there?)? I would like to run with some company this weekend. Thanks.

I don't know many routes over there, but the little I know is summarized thus:

In my experience, the island loop is 3-4mi, depending on how I do it (i.e., I haven't been paying attention).

The other loop I've done is up Newtown Rd, down and back the subdivision on the right off of it (Lore Pines Ln on map), then right on Dowell (past Anne Marie Gardens) to end at water, and then back (skipping subdivision) -- I think that is around 7mi.

My 12ish mile route includes Solomons, Newtown Road, Dowell Road and side roads (choose from Annemarie Gardens, Osprey Cove, Rolling Hills, etc depending on what I feel like.)

Sue, I passed you (in my car) on my way to meet the CC kids for their Saturday run. I just wanted to check if you guys did meet for a run. If it's as humid tonight as it was this morning, tonight's 8K is going to be miserable!

Yes it was a sticky, humid run this morning. But the company was terrific and I really enjoyed the conversations! Then my hip started complaining again right around mile 8-9-ish (and I took the Ibuprofen prior to running but it still hurt). After splitting off from the group I ran up beyond my house for some extra distance to see how the hip would do, but it still hurt and I didn't want to push it any more... so my intended 12-13 miler ended up being approx. 11.5 mi. I think I'll be setting up another dr. appointment.
Sierra and team CBRC: GOOD LUCK TONIGHT!!! RUN WELL AND I HOPE YOU GUYS WIN!! Very Happy

Thanks for a good run and the great company this morning. I just might enjoy marathon training as much as the marathon itself this year. Smile
