How can I get a photo up loaded for my avatar? I tried resizing a picture to get it down to size, but I don't know if I'm doing it right. How do I get a picture to be my avatar? Thank you for any advice! Sue _________________ Next Up: Baltimore Marathon 10/11/08

Here is a way that worked for me in Windows XP Home just now.
Choose a picture.
Open Windows Paint (Start/All Programs/Paint)
File/Open and browse to and open your desired picture
Check the image attributes to see the current height and width.
Mine were 350 by something.
It needs to be 80x80 or smaller,
So I resized my chimp picture -- Image/Stretch/Skew
Stretch, Horizontal = 20% Vertical = 20%
That made it small, and I checked the Image/Attributes, and now it was smaller than 80 x 80.
So I saved it.
Then I clicked on Profile here on the forum, and down at the bottom used the upload avatar to upload my new small avatar file.

Thanks! I followed the steps...but still the message popped up after I hit 'submit' that it needs to be less than 6kb. I thought it was small enough... I checked the attributes...I must be missing something...I will try again....(sigh) I am not computer savvy. _________________ Next Up: Baltimore Marathon 10/11/08

| If you're on windows, you should be able to right-click the file and choose Properties and see the file size.
