Chia Seeds

Postby sierra on Wed Mar 26, 2008 4:03 pm

My Mother-In-Law asked me about chia seeds. I have never used them, let alone heard of them. Anyone ever tried them?

I have only heard of Cha-Cha-Chia Pets. (sorry no real help I know, but I couldn't resist) Suzanne

is this related to the jokes about chia running?

Postby Perry2 on Wed Mar 26, 2008 9:15 pm

On the running ahead forums, people occasionally make sarcastic allusions to chia running -- http://www.chiarunning.com/ -- which go right over my head; I truly have no idea what it is or what the joke is. I don't know if that has anything to do with this.

We got some supplemental pills high in omega-3s a while back, but I don't have any evidence they're helping -- actually, I have enough trouble remembering to take the regular vitamin pill in a day, and I'd prefer not to take both at the same time, so I rarely make it to the omega-3 pill.

Enlyten

Postby vic_runner on Thu Mar 27, 2008 12:31 am

I haven't heard of Chia seeds either, but if your looking for something to help on the run, I'm using enlyten strips, which are little strips of electrolytes in the same size as the Listerine strips. I've only used them on long runs as I'm searching for something to help keep me going at the end of marathons and maybe 10 milers. Here is their website: http://www.enlytenstrips.com/

Don't know if they work but this is an "as seen on TV" site that you can but them from. They make it sound good atleast.
