| Is everything ready to go for Sunday? All I have to do is find the 10k registration and I should be good? Also do we have an official team name and are we going to try and meet up somewhere there? Sorry so many questions I never have run in DC before nor a race with so many runners.

| We have 10 people registered for the 10K this weekend, so just get there early enough to pick up your bib & packet. I would say being there at 7:30 ensures you won't be rushed for the 8:30 start. We should tenatively plan to get together and take a picture or two around 8am, giving everyone time to warm up and race. We should start talking about possible car-pools as I've heard several people are interested.

I will be sending out an email tomorrow to the CBRC team members that will include info on carpooling, meeting, etc.
The 800's at the track didn't go so well for me today. I hope I'm not still sick like this on Sunday!

I was hoping to carpool, until someone mentioned at the CBRC meeting last night the idea of driving from after the race to LaPlata for the Crit, which is not a bad idea -- I have two afternoon (marshalling) slots at the Crit, so I'm starting to think it would make sense for me to skip going home in-between. My first slot isn't until about 1400, but I could do something to kill time, including eating lunch.
Any of you all want to eat lunch in Washington? I don't know Capitol Hill -- I never lived inside the district -- the closest I ever was, was in a place where I could walk into the district to get on the bus inside the line (which avoided a transfer fee of crossing the line).
I've never seen the new AmerIndian museum -- I could kill time that way. But I think parking near the mall is troublesome on the weekends -- for several years I worked for the Smithsonian and never took advantage of my ability to use Smithsonian lots on the weekend downtown, and now I wish I had that back. But, if I have a parking spot from early in the morning, I could just walk to the mall. Or jog

Good luck to all of us -- may we all break 28 min! (ha) or at least 30 min (ha) or at least 60 min

Ok, we didn't all break 28. In fact, noone at the race broke 28. But there were a handful in the low 30s. The winning team (1M2F) averaged in the 37s I think -- the guy on that team was in the 32s. Our team was #4 (good job, Vic, Paul, and Sierra).
Actually, I think I'll write up a "race report" for the newsletter for my run.

Sorry guys about my time. That is the slowest 10K I have ever ran. I'm not sure what happened out there, but I'm hoping it was just due to having the flu last weekend. Three and a half minutes slower than last year. Yikes!
Otherwise, it was a good race. I'm still not sure if I like the course change, but seeing the lead male effortlessly run up the hill was pretty neat. I heard the DC police were having all kinds of issues with cars driving on the course.
For those who it was their first DC race (or largest race), what did you think?
Don't forget to submit a race report to the newsletter!

Now, Sierra don't go beating yourself up for a rough racing time, today did not have idea conditions and I didn't get near my goal either. Everyone gets a scratch score or even season, so just finishing without being sick or ending up in the medical tent is an accomplishment today. Looking at the impressive set of times you've already racked up (this year and last) demand that you sit back and be happy about them. You didn't drag our team down, you saved it from being 10th.

I really enjoyed the race. Personally the humidity didn't bother me, maybe a few degrees cooler but would have been nice but over all I was satisfied. I ran almost the same time as I did the hospice 10k, 2 seconds off my time. I actually ran the last 5 miles today at a quicker pace than the first mile due to the fact I didnt start far enough up front. I bet I ran 1.2 miles by the time I hit the 1 mile mark because I spent all my time weaving in and out of people and not trying to get tripped up. I wanted my first mile at or slightly below 7:00. Had I started out closer to the start I could have easily done that. I bet I passed 300 people in the first mile, oh well lesson learned for next time. I was also very happy to get a chance to talk with the two ethiopians male and female that won the race today. It was interesting hearing about how their national team trains twice a day through the plains and plateaus in Ethiopia . The language barrier was alittle rough but I just enough out of it to understand that I never want to train like they do.
