High Cholesterol

Postby Ron on Fri May 15, 2009 6:39 am

I've recently found out i have high cholesterol (it's about 236 with my triglycerides @ 448). Both of my parents have high cholesterol as well. My doctor prescribed Crestor which i had been taking for the past month. Theh problem is now i struggle to run 3 miles. My stamina seems to be be getting worse instead of better. I read online about some of the sise effectsof Crestor and loss of stamina looks to be one of them. I've dtopped taking it and am lookinfg at some naturak ways of controlling my cholestoerol. I was wondering if anyone else has the same problem woth high cholestoerol and what do you do? Thanks.

I would talk to my Dr. about it. If I have any concerns, or questions regarding medications, I ask my Dr. and I will describe every detail of any side effect to the Dr. (I have gone so far as to log dates/times/activities when symptoms have occurred). Good Luck.

I was on Zocor for a couple years, and was training for a half (my first) when I had muscle pains and other weird things going on. I put up with it but suffered, thinking it was shin splints. Then I changed doctors and mentioned it. By this time I was also having neck spasms which caused me to lie in bed for a couple days. The doc said it was the Zocor and switched me to Pravachol. No problems since. Ask to switch to something else and see if that helps. No sense in suffering!
