race belt

Postby Perry2 on Mon Apr 27, 2009 9:06 pm

I like using a race belt because I don't have to muck with safety pins, or put holes in things. I picked this idea up from some of the triathletes (along with the speed laces that are still sitting in a package, never put into shoes yet).

But I've discovered a disadvantage -- the big marathon photographer companies (or their software) don't recognize my bib number -- if I put my bib number in, I get photos of random people who are not me.

Is the number clearly visible? Sometimes the photographers are focused more on the upper body. Or if the bib is down lower your arms may obscure part of the number...? Just a thought.

Yeah, I tend to push it around to the side to keep it out of the way, so I'm sure it's not as visible -- so it's a trade-off that I hadn't realized. I'm not sure I care enough to change how I handle it.
