New personal stupidity record

Postby Perry3 on Sat Jan 03, 2009 5:32 pm

New personal stupidity record
Wed 12.5 miles, Thu 13.4 miles, Fri 15 miles, Sat 19.6 miles
no doubles
I seem to have taken a wrong turn and got myself into the race for injury; I better try to take a turn back out of this...

I sent you links to my photos for that -- oh wait, no, that was my personal fashion record, not personal stupidity record -- I got confused momentarily...

Well Perry, Mr. Fashionista, I don't think you've seen my electric blue running tights. Although they don't quite rival the photos you sent of your reflective outfit. We really need to have a "hideous outfits" themed run one day...

That is Kenyan mileage. Now you need to reap the benefits of this endurance you've clearly earned. Easy - hard is the way to go. Do 10 miles easy one day, something hard the next, then back to an easy 10. This can take up 5 or 6 days of your schedule. Hard should be a mixture of speedwork one day, tempo run another (5 to 10 miles) or tempo intervals where you run 1 mile easy, 1 mile hard (5 to 10 miles). With an alternating Sunday long run, easy or no run Monday, you can dive into that, enjoy the Saturday races as they appear, and really smash the upcoming LPR marathon. That is what I'd be doing if my schedule was clear until then. 8)

I would do easy hard if the temperature would go from warm one day to cold the next to warm the next etc, and I could count all the cold days as hard, because I don't like cold so I consider going out in this as hard :)

So.... I heard bits of a story about you (Perry), a run, St. Mary's City, cranberry juice, peanuts, and a dehydrated meal. Does the whole story rate anywhere on the Personal Stupidity Record Scale? :P

I hope you know I'm just kidding about the stupidity thing, btw... Only hoping for a dramatic story embellished with false details about a big adventure running to / through / from St. Mary's City. Maybe with some ghosts of early MD colonists?... Pirate ships invading St. Mary's City while people run away protecting their loot of peanuts and cranberry juice...?

Wow, ghosts of early colonists, I'm not sure if I can come up with a story up to that level.

BTW, it wasn't the meal that was dehydrated :)
