Hernia repairs

Postby scott on Fri Jan 16, 2009 6:47 pm

Haven't been chatting much on here since I found out I had a hernia that needed to be repaired about 3 weeks ago. I had surgery on 14th this month and I'm hoping that after a few weeks I can get back out on the road and return to running. Just before sugery my Doc checked me one more time and relized I had a hernia on the other side too and he'd fix that one also while he was in there. Since he was doing laproscopic surgery he could do it within the same incision but it would take a bit longer.
I was wondering if anyone had gone through this before and if so how long did it take to recover. I'm getting around a lot better today but still have a lot of swelling in places I care not to discuss. Hope to see you all out there soon.

I don't know anything about it either, but I do hope it goes smoothly and you can quickly put it into the past.

Six weeks into recovery and since I've had a few complications the Doc still wants me on light duty.

I guess you picked the right time of the year -- better to be out for the wintry stuff, and come back for spring & summer.
