I've been using the Ian secure knot

Blaine (who does the runtowin web pages) uses what Ian calls the "Better Bow" Shoelace knot -- which is easier:

Ian also has a fast Ian knot, but I never learned it.

Interesting......I've just been tying my shoes with a double knot. I might try one of these fancy knots. lol.

I'm a big fan of the double knot myself. Now I'm afraid I've been doing something wrong all these years. For fear of continuing to mess up, I think I'll start running in cowboy boots so I don't have to tie them.

I prefer these fancy ones because they're easy to untie -- just pull the ends like a regular shoelace knot. Untieing a double-knot takes some finger agility that I sometimes lack in the winter when my hands are cold -- or if my shoelaces are wet.
