Pt. Mugu/Oxnard (CA)

I flew in to LAX on Tuesday (2/3) and we (business trip) drove up to Oxnard. The hotel was beautiful and the area even more so. I'm a Cali native, but Northern California. I never did spend much time in So Cal. Thankfully I packed shorts and t-shirts to run in! There was part of a bike/walking path by the hotel and that's where my co-worker and I kind of followed the first two days. We were right by the water and ran a little on the beach. We also wound through the local neighborhoods. Thursday morning I ran by myself. I was going to try and get a long run in before we left for LAX, but about four miles in I had to stop (due to my foot). I was a little nervous at first running by myself, but the neighborhoods were quiet and easy to follow. I hate to say it, but I'm ready to move!

That sounds really nice, Sierra. Glad you got your run on the beach at last. Don't move though--they have earthquakes, and fires, and budget problems...stay here. :)

And wouldn't the foot like to do a nice comfortable jog in Severna Park on Saturday with lots of other Maryland runners -- and rack up a comfortable couple of points to safeguard against having to injure it at a metric marathon much later in the year due to lack of Striders finishes...
