New To The Group

Postby Stephanie on Sun Sep 13, 2009 8:45 pm

Hello!

Not sure where I should be posting this but I was referred by a friend to this group. I am new to the area and looking for a reliable group to run with. I moved here a few months ago from Fort Worth, Texas where I was part of a large, supported, running group that trained for marathons and half marathons. We met 3 days a week with speed work, short runs, and long runs on Saturdays, on average of 60-80 people at any given run, with a myriad of levels. I miss my support group a ton and would love to have a few people to run with to get me back into the flow. I've signed up for the upcoming 5k in Solomons and am looking forward to becoming a part of the running community here.

Thanks!

Steph

Hi Steph! Welcome to the group! I feel weird saying that as I joined earlier this year and have not been active at all. I have been trying to get into the groove of things but just cannot get myself motivated since I had my first baby. I am not sure where you live, but I would be happy to have a running buddy. I need the motivation and support to just get a jumpstart. I have most of my energy in the mornings, but it's getting relatively darker now. I would love to partner up with someone so that I can enjoy a quick 30 - 45 min morning run. Let me know what you think if you live in the Wildewood area...

Welcome to St. Mary's!!!

Hello Lica!

I am close to Wildewood. I can't do early mornings because I'm getting my kids off to school and my husband leaves really early for work. But anytime between 9:30am and 2:30pm I am game! I also started running with 2 other girls on saturday mornings if you'd like to come. We did 10 miles last saturday and I think we are doing 7 or 8 this saturday. I know you wanted to do 30 to 45 minutes so if you wanted to just come out for the first few miles that would be great!

Hope these times are good for you!
