According to P&R staff, the asphalt is now complete on the entire 13 mile length, but the road crossings on Rt.224 & Rt.225 will not be installed until September 23rd - that's when the entire trail will officially open. Despite the official opening date, cyclists and runners are already enjoying the new sections. I heard that over 500 cyclists used a portion of the trail during last Sunday's Indian Head Century Ride.

They confirmed that there is a trail ribbon cutting on Tuesday, November 3 @ 2:00 PM. Even though that's an odd time, I hope that plenty of runners and cyclist show-up to show support. We need let the the elected officials know just how important this is (and over-due)! Mark your calendar.
