ANYONE TRAINING USING A HEART RATE MONITOR?

WAS CURIOUS HOW FOLKS ARE IMPLEMENTING THEM INTO THEIR TRAINING REGIME?

I have/use one. It's a Polar but not super fancy or high-tech, but I like to keep track of my rates on various runs. Mostly to make sure I run easy enough on my easy days, but also to make sure I run harder on my harder days. I also wore it in my last marathon since I trained wearing it I was able to see my heart rates and compare them. I don't wear it every single run though.

Passing along something I heard recently:

In our last tri club meeting, Mike mentioned that a common culprit for a higher than usual heart rate (eg, in the closing marathon of an ironman) is dehydration, so that's a culprit to consider if you see the heart rate higher than you expect at a particular pace.

i have a polar also that i use everytime i run just because i like to keep track of my calories i burn.
